I first fell for soccer at age ten while casually watching the 2006 World Cup, but after a days long stint stint coaching my friends at recess that ended with one of them in tears. I did not give the sport much thought until Landon Donovan’s stoppage time winner against Algeria at the 2010 World Cup. From then on, I wanted to explore everything the world’s most popular sport had to offer and pretty quickly decided on becoming a journalist.

In four years covering both women’s and men’s soccer in the United States and developing a deep enough knowledge to comment on it worldwide, I have started doing that. As a sports journalist, I’ve naturally covered wins and losses and profiled many in the sport, but being on any given beat has allowed me to see the sport’s unique lens on the world we live in. Sometimes, it’s as simple as noticing that there’s a group of soccer players that have wandered into music, but more often I’m covering deeper things like professional fulfillment and the sport’s impact on the world around it.

I’m currently with The GIST, working on a project that’s coming soon!

Previously

I spent the start of my career as a freelance journalist covering women’s and men’s soccer primarily in the United States and abroad. I became familiar with the ins and outs of beat reporting, and developed an interest in covering sport’s interaction with the rest of the world.

I also spent four years writing Cartilage Free Captain’s morning news brief, the Hoddle of Coffee, a meeting point for the commentariat where I cover the latest in soccer and the world outside of it.

I have written for the likes of The GuardianThe Athletic, SB Nation, Power Plays, Front Office Sports, The Equalizer, Pro Soccer USA, SBI Soccer, and Unusual Efforts, among others.

Additionally, I've written for The Observer, the newspaper for Fordham University's Lincoln Center campus, serving as part of the news department.I graduated from Fordham University with a Communications degree, concentrating in journalism, and a minor in French in May 2017.
